 We have started a week end school of environment in Thane city. We provide environment education in an informal, but authentic manner.

  • We invite experts to deliver lectures on various topics related to nature and environment.
  • Students get the opportunity to learn day to day Environmental science.
  • Class room is teaching based on day to day activities.
  • We arrange Weekly field trips to study nature.

Teacher Training Program

  • We organize training programs for school teachers engaged in teaching Environmental science.
  • This training program is organized to make the teachers aware of the importance of this subject and also to provide inspiration and motivation.
  • Hundreds of teachers have participated in these training programs so far.

Knowledge is an important resource which influences people’s minds and behavior. With this in mind Paryavaran Dakshata Manch has started an information center.

  • It houses a vast collection of books, journals, research papers, scientific magazines, news papers and has information in electronic form. The collection is relevant to environmental issues.
  • It caters to needs of students, teachers in particular. It is also useful to people interested in learning about different aspects of environment. Interested people have a free access.
  • It is situated at Ram Maruti road, a central place in Thane.

Bhatkanti: Nature trails

We believe firsthand knowledge stimulates our minds greatly. To attain this we make nature trails and excursions an integral part of our environmental education programs. This program is open to people of all age groups. Nature trails are organized round the year on every alternate Sundays.

  • Each trail focuses on one environmental issue at a time or on one aspect of nature which is announced beforehand.
  • The group comprises of 25-40 enthusiasts and is accompanied by an expert who answers their queries.
  • This method of teaching brings the subject to life and makes a deep and lasting impact on the psyche of the participants.
